Project: Multimedia guides and immersive content production

Location: Brussels City Hall (Brussels, Belgium)

Year: 2024

Brussels City Hall, a Gothic masterpiece located on the UNESCO-listed Grand Place, stands as one of the most cherished historical and architectural icons of Belgium. Dating back to the 15th century, this landmark invites visitors to explore its richly decorated rooms and storied corridors, capturing the grandeur of Brussels’ cultural heritage.

Alongside Brussels Major Events, Orpheo has brought this experience to life through an immersive, multilingual visitor journey. From providing visitor devices to producing immersive content and developing the app, we have been dedicated to this multimedia project with passion.

As part of this unique initiative, Orpheo provided Orpheo Touch multimedia guides paired with Orpheo Airset headsets, enabling visitors to enjoy tours in six languages: French, Belgian Dutch, English, German, Spanish, and Italian. Visitors can select between an adult-oriented tour and a family-friendly version, each guided by two virtual characters, Michel and Gudule, who offer insights into the City Hall’s history with an engaging, story-driven approach.

We created exclusive video content that includes a special interview with renowned Belgian author and cartoonist Philippe Geluck. Visitors can also enjoy immersive 360-degree panoramas inside the rooms, which offer deeper insights into selected objects and artworks, adding layers of historical and artistic context.

The visitor app is accessible not only on the Orpheo Touch device but also as a web app, which will soon be available for personal devices, giving visitors the flexibility to explore using their preferred format.

To promote this experience, we provided a communication pack that includes a branded rollup and a teaser video, designed to captivate and inform visitors.

This project reflects our dedication to crafting meaningful, interactive visits of one of Belgium’s iconic heritage sites, allowing every visitor to experience Brussels City Hall in an unforgettable way.
