ORPHEO M-BOX
Device Distribution Station and Real-Time Visitor Analytics
The Orpheo M-Box automates onsite distribution of multimedia and audio devices, simplifying operations and speeding up visitor flow, while simultaneously capturing real-time operational and visitor insights. Compatible with Orpheo Mikro LX, Orpheo Hybe and Orpheo Touch devices, the M-Box empowers museum and cultural-site teams to manage their device fleets efficiently and leverage data-driven strategies.
Key benefits
Distribution mode
Thanks to the M-Box, the device distribution process takes only around 3 seconds, significantly faster than manual operations. The system automatically configures language, tour and accessibility settings simultaneously on one or several devices. Placing the devices on the M-Box platform triggers the automatic update of each unit, ensuring that every visitor receives a correctly configured guide.
The distribution interface also displays the number of connected devices in real time, allowing staff to monitor and manage distribution efficiently.

Return mode

In Return Mode, the M-Box automatically detects and registers devices that have been returned at the end of the visit. This mode collects essential data such as visit duration and device status, providing valuable insights into visitor flow and equipment usage.
It is particularly useful for unmanned exit areas, where visitors can return devices independently, while data is transmitted automatically to the Orpheo cloud system.
Dual mode
The Dual Mode combines both Distribution and Return functionalities on a single station. Designed for staff-managed locations, it allows operators to switch seamlessly between modes and handle both processes from the same interface.
This hybrid configuration simplifies daily operations, reduces handling time, and centralises real-time data on both outgoing and returned devices.
Real-time data available online

The M-Box provides access to real-time analytics through the Orpheo cloud platform, allowing managers to monitor and interpret device usage data at any time. The online dashboard displays key indicators such as:
- Number of devices in use at any given moment
- Distribution of selected tours and languages in percentages
- Number of rentals per distribution point
- User statistics per hour, day, and month
- Average visit duration
- Visitor satisfaction rate
With these insights, onsite coordinators can generate detailed activity reports, optimise operational schedules, and develop data-driven marketing strategies based on measured visitor behaviour.
