ORPHEO MIKRO LX

With 30 years of experience in the audio tour industry, we understand what visitors expect from a self-guided tour device. The Mikro LX builds on the strengths of previous generations—delivering superior audio quality—while offering enhanced features like exceptional battery life and the ability to store multiple languages for your tour. Like all of our professional-grade devices, the Mikro LX comes with dual headphone jacks, making it ideal for shared experiences. Built to withstand heavy public use, it is both shock and weather resistant, ensuring reliable performance for years to come in all conditions. Whether used manually by visitors or automatically through beacons, the Mikro LX is versatile and user-friendly. With video syncing capabilities, every guest can enjoy video content with audio in their preferred language.

Automatic triggering & video synchronisation

Orpheo audio guides and multimedia players are equipped for automatic triggering and video synchronisation using Infrared technology. This feature allows the devices to play specific audio messages automatically in predefined zones, enabling visitors to explore the tour hands-free and in complete autonomy—ideal for experiences that include light shows, for example. Automatic triggering is also particularly beneficial for visitors with disabilities.

Importantly, the triggered commentary is played in the language selected by the visitor, ensuring a personalised experience. Since all audio content is stored directly on the audio guides, once the signal is received, the playback commentary continues seamlessly without interruption.

Note: The triggering equipment is designed to be discreet and does not require a centralized computer system

Exceptional autonomy up to 18 hours

One of the key advantages of the Orpheo Mikro LX is its impressive battery life, offering over 18 hours of continuous operation.
The charging rack can store and charge up to 24 Mikro LX devices simultaneously, requiring minimal staff intervention. The devices can remain plugged into a wall outlet, staying powered-on, and are fully recharged within 6 hours.

Additionally, the charging rack simplifies content management, with the ability to upload languages or audio tracks to 23 devices at once. This feature makes content transfer and device management both efficient and hassle-free.

To accommodate various site needs, two charging rack formats are available:

  • Free-standing format (optional wall hooks to customise installation options)
  • 19” rackable format

Accessibility features

Accessibility is something Orpheo takes seriously, which is why all of our devices are also compatible with induction loops for the hearing impaired.

Another benefit of the device is the ability to use the loudspeaker (many volume levels available), an Orpheo Airset headset, or any standard headset with a 3.5mm jack. Therefore, visitors have the ability to use their own headsets with the Mikro LX device if desired. Volume is adjusted easily on the device by the user, and can be accessed using just one hand. Volume can be adjusted per track if necessary.

The device has a keypad with a raised marker on the #5 key, making it easier for visually impaired visitors to navigate. In addition, the keypad and display are backlit: this makes it easier to see in dim lighting and for visitors with visual impairments.

Our automatic triggering options are useful for visitors with visual impairments or physical disabilities.
