Located in Atlanta, Georgia, the David J. Sencer CDC Museum, often referred to as the CDC Museum, offers a comprehensive look at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Orpheo is proud to announce that the new CDC Museum tour is now up and running. The museum features both Orpheo Mikro LX audio guides and Orpheo Touch units, along with a downloadable app. The tour includes a descriptive guide for sight-challenged guests, ensuring accessibility for all.
Founded in 1996 as the Global Health Odyssey Museum, it was renamed in honor of David Sencer’s long tenure as Director of the CDC. The CDC Museum’s mission is to educate visitors about the importance of prevention-based public health, while collecting, preserving, and presenting CDC’s rich heritage and accomplishments through engaging exhibitions, dynamic educational programming, and web archives.
Welcoming nearly 100,000 guests per year, the museum is a Smithsonian-affiliated institution open year-round with free admission.
